  • The Vivo V9 weighs only 150 grams making it comfortable to hold in hand.
  • Vivo V9 being a flagship Smartphone comes with a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The headphone jack is a nice addition to the Vivo V9, as most flagship Phones today like the iPhone X and Google Pixel 2 lack a headphone jack.
  • The placement of the Speaker grills on the Vivo V9 Plus is excellently placed at the bottom of the phone. The audio quality from the speaker is loud and clear even when used at max volume.
  • The Vivo V9 features the Face unlock which works quite well for unlocking the phone in a sec but they are not secure as what iPhone X is.
  • The Vivo V9 comes has a glass and metal body with tactile buttons offering a premium touch and feel of the phone.
  • The Fingerprint sensor on the phone is placed vivo v9 backbehind, which is easily accessible. The Fingerprint sensor is quite responsive and unlocks the phone in a split-second.

Vivo V9: Cons or Reasons not to buy

  • Front Camera: The front camera does a decent job in daylight situations but, noise starts to creep in while capturing shots in low light conditions.
  • Rear Camera: The Rear camera suffers in colour reproduction in daylight conditions. Images are hard to capture in low – light and some shots captured in low- light are rather disappointing.
  • The glossy finish of the phone attracts fingerprint marks and a lot of smudges. So, using the provided Phone case which comes in the box won’t be a bad idea.
  • The phone is powered by a 3260 mAh battery, which in my opinion is slightly less when compared to budget segment phones like the Redmi Note 5 Pro (4000mAh ). We think Vivo could have done a better job in terms of battery backup for its flagship. If you are short on battery, here is a list Top 5 Best Power bank under 1500 Rs in India.
  • Shooting Videos on this phone is a nightmare as the Vivo V9 has neither OIS nor EIS implemented. Video captured had a lot of jitters and were shaky. When compared to budget phones like the Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Redmi Note 5, even they have EIS implemented.
  • It is disappointing to see the lack of USB Type-C in the Vivo V9, considering it is 2018 already and most devices now comes with USB Type-C. No fast charging is supported either.

Final Conclusion

If you’re looking for a phone which can click great selfies and has an iPhone X-ish notch display, then the Vivo V9 would be your best buy. But, the Vivo V9 is a flagship Smartphone with some major cons and is available at an overkill price. Yes, it does have the futuristic looking notch but the lack of major features like Fast charging, EIS/OIS, USB Type-C, etc., hardly justifies the overkill price of Rs. 22,990.
