Asus Zenfone 5Z- Pros or Reasons to buy

Here are the pros of Asus Zenfone 5Z-

  • The cameras are decent on the Asus Zenfone 5Z. The Auto Focus(PDAF) is very swift and quickly locks onto the subject. The color reproduction and clarity is also great. The shots contain a lot of detail and are on par with the OnePlus 6 even though the OnePlus 6 does seem to have a larger dynamic range in normal mode.
  • The dim light shots are also very impressive and capture a lot more detail than the OnePlus 6. The shots are very much usable and will not seem grainy or pixelized. Here are some camera samples from TheOfficialAyush-
  • The front camera also does a great job. The shots are touched up a bit by the AI integration but not overdone. The wide angle shots are also great and definitely social media worthy.
  • The FHD+ Super IPS+ used on the Zenfone 5Z is very color accurate. The small font details are sharp and we have to say that the color accuracy will put the OnePlus 6 to shame. The display does get a little dim but that’s because it is not an AMOLED panel but an LCD one, but that does not make it any less eye candy.
  • The display personalization is also a great addition, it gives you the option to tinker with display color temperatures and change it according to your viewing preference.
  • The Snapdragon 845 Chipset is the best processor you can get currently in the market. With the price tag of 30,000 Rs, the Zenfone 5Z brings this top of the line processor to the masses. The processor is blazing fast and you will not have any problems with it. Day-to-day tasks or heavy rendering and gaming, the 845 SoC can handle everything with ease.
  • The AI Engine integration makes your most used apps load faster over time, as the device learns that info and automatically routes the maximum resources for that app. This allows for more RAM and computing speed for your favorite games.
  • There is virtually no heating during intense gaming let alone a few nicks. The Adreno 630 does an apt job at handling modern titles like PUBG and Asphalt with ease. We were very impressed with the low temps while heavy tasks.
  • The 3300 mAh battery gets through a full day and little more. The battery will easily last two days on light usage. Added to that is the bundled heavy 18W charger that can charge the phone completely is than 2 hours.
  • There is a wide array of battery customizations and the AI Engine chooses the most viable one for you. This makes the battery last longer and makes it easier to manage resources.
  • The AI Engine charges the device very efficiently. If you leave your phone to charge overnight the AI Engine automatically trickle charges the phone for a better battery health.
  • The fingerprint sensor is very swift and registers the input in split seconds. There are a lot of sensors in the phone ranging from the usual gyro, proximity, and compass. There is also a temperature sensor in the camera that is used by the display.
  • The Asus Zenfone 5Z sports dual speakers that deliver clear and loud sounds. There is also a Hi-Res earphone bundled with the device which is very good and eliminates the need for aftermarket earphones.
  • The software side on the Zenfone has improved a lot over the years and the current Zen UI 5.0 is a lot sleeker and has reduced bloatware and faster menus.
  • There is AI integration in almost all software hinges, be it photos or app preferences. The AI enhancement is greatly implemented and will only get better with future updates.

Asus Zenfone 5Z- Cons or Reasons not to buy

Here are the Cons of Asus Zenfone 5Z-

  • The AI Integration that changes the camera scenes automatically is a bit buggy and causes some problems during quick shots, and you have to force the camera to click the picture at your desired setting.
  • The phone gets a bit hot while recording at 4K resolutions. The focus during video recording is also not that great and the device finds it difficult to lock on to objects while recording.
  • There is no dustproof, waterproof or splashproof rating. The Zenfone 5Z lacks protection from elements and this is where the competition takes the cake. Recommeded- IP67 vs IP68: Waterproof IP Rating Explained
  • Night photography is still not comparable to the flagships and even the OnePlus 6 can’t manage to do that. The 5Z and the OnePlus 6 sit in the same spot when it comes to night photography and there is not much to like about it.
